Winifred Scogna (Peep-Bo)
|
Winifred is a hard working Music Education major at West Chester University.
A long time fan of Gilbert and Sullivan, Winifred is thrilled to be working with
the GSSCC’s 2006 production of The Mikado. Though her first experience with the
GSSCC, she is no stranger to performance or the stage. Winifred’s previous stage
credits include Madame Liange (Flower Drum Song), Candy Vendor (Carnival), Katisha
(The Mikado), Bridesmaid (Trial by Jury), Golde (Fiddler on the Roof), and Cherubino
(La Nozze de Figgaro). Winifred has also lent her talents behind the scenes. She
was the head of Wardrobe and Make-up for Wagner College’s productions of Anything
Goes and The Pajama Game.
Winifred has never limited herself with opportunities to perform. Throughout her high-school career Winifred performed with the Perkiomen Valley Concert, Honors, Women’s, Tri-County, District XI, and Region V Choirs. She was also a proud member of the award winning Perkiomen Valley Marching Vikings, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. Her choral and instrumental experience has lead Winifred to many places. She has traveled the country with the esteemed Wagner College Choir singing in the College, Chamber, and Women’s Choirs. During her interim, the choir performed Vivaldi’s Gloria at Carnegie Hall. She also traveled to Europe performing both vocally and instrumentally with American Music Abroad. More locally, Winifred is a 10 year veteran and Board Member of the Original Trilby String Band of the Philadelphia Mummers. Winifred would like to thank the GSSCC for giving her this opportunity to reignite her love affair with Gilbert and Sullivan. She would also like to thank her family and friends for their constant support to follow her dreams, and their constant repartee to keep her feet on the ground. |
