Stu Baird (Mr. Blushington)

Stu is proud to have appeared on stage, either in the chorus or in roles as minor as this one, in all 14 of the Gilbert & Sullivan collaborations: at least one each with Bruce Montgomery directing, in fact. He has also applied his modest talents towards waving a baton, playing a keyboard, writing program notes, orchestrating, audio recording and devising infamous G&S quizzes, formerly for the Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra and the Gilbert & Sullivan Players, and more recently for our Society, which he joined in 1991. Now retired to Utopia from a career in aerospace and avionics software, Stu spends his time bicycle touring, traveling to scenic places, writing, and listening to and arranging music. In other words, the description in the opening chorus is not far off the mark: "In open idleness ... / With lyre and lute / And silver flute / The life of Lazyland!"
