Kevin Strauss has always considered himself a "closet lead", having sung
all of the major Gilbert and Sullivan light opera roles in the confines
of his shower, kitchen and SUV. Now, thanks to the GSSCC, he has decided
that it’s time to get real and do it the hard way—on stage.
After appearing as The Usher last year’s GSSCC Trial By Jury, Kevin expresses no small amount of shock, delight, and surprise in being cast as The Learned Judge in this year’s production, and is proud to consider himself a part of t he GSSCC circle of friends.
He is a member of Philadelphia's Savoy company as well as Media's Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra, appearing in The Mikado, Patience, The Sorcerer, The Gondoliers, HMS Pinafore, Yeomen of The Guard and The Pirates of Penzance. His triumphant debut as Njegus in this fall’s AVA/Concert Operetta presentation of The Merry Widow sent giggles up and down the 1900 block of Spruce Street.
