John has
appeared in numerous leading roles for GSSCC. A former principal in the
D'Oyly Carte Company, John has enjoyed his continuing role in G
& S operas. He was the Major General in Pirates
of Penzance at the Buxton Gilbert & Sullivan
Festival in England with the Philadelphia Gilbert & Sullivan
Union in August. In February, he was the Grand Inquisitor in the
OperaDelaware production of The
Gondoliers.In addition to opera roles, he has performed with some of the finest musical organizations in the world, including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Little Orchestra Society of New York, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, The New York City Opera Company, the Aspen Music Festival and toured Italy as soloist in the Beethoven 9th Symphony with the London Symphony Orchestra.
His recordings include Monteverdi's L'Ofeo with the New York City Opera Orchestra conducted by Leopold Stokowski, Berlioz's Les Troyens and The Ballad of Baby Doe with Beverly Sills.
