Jennifer Cole's first G & S performance was Lady Jane in
Patience in 1972, with the Academy of the New Church High School,
where she was directed by Emily K. Asplundh herself, and she wonders
if she is the first person directed by Mrs. Asplundh to appear in her
theater here at West Chester! On the board of Bryn Athyn Community Theater,
which doesn't do G & S often enough for her taste, Jennifer has ventured
out to Rose Valley, where she reprised her role as Lady Jane in Fall of
2004, and to Ardensingers to join the chorus for Utopia, Ltd last spring.
She was musical director for B-ACT's Iolanthe in 2001, and Dame Carruthers
in their 2004 Yeomen of the Guard. She has played leading roles in a few
non-musicals, although musical theater is her favorite, especially Gilbert
and Sullivan. She teaches private voice and violin lessons, and keeps track
of her 6 sons, two daughters, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, and five
grandchildren. And yes, Alison Cole, who is in the chorus, is one of her two
daughters! "Many thanks to my husband Stephen for putting up with my G & S addiction!"
