Derek Hess is a sophomore at
West Chester University, and
after a year of soul searching and several tough decisions, he has
recently
changed his major to philosophy. However, music has been an important
aspect of
his life, and shall remain so. He intends to perform whenever he can,
and will
probably never stop singing and indulging his love of music. He has studied voice under
Francine Black,
Tammy Black and Dr. Emily Bullock, and owes his success to their
guidance and
support. Derek is
ecstatic to be returning
to the stage with the GSSCC in his second season with the group, and
looks
forward to many more to follow. Prior to this production, Derek has
been seen
in several performances, including West Chester University’s
performance of L’Enfant et les Sortileges
as the
Teapot, Berks Opera Workshop’s La Boheme
as Parpignol the toymaker, and Amahl and
the Night Visitors as the Page.
Most
recently he was Leonard Meryll in King of Prussia Players’ The Yeomen of the Guard.
