Brendan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he performed as a featured tenor and character actor with many groups, primarily the Penn Singers and the Penn Glee Club, both under the direction of Bruce Montgomery.

With our society he has appeared as The Defendant in two of our annual Trial By Jury productions, and as the comic patter lead in five mainstage productions, most recently as Jack Point in The Yeomen of the Guard. With the G&S Players he has played Mercury in the Gilbert & Montgomery revival of Thespis twice, including the 2000 Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England, where he was awarded the festival prize for Best Supporting Actor. In the summer of 2005 he returned to Buxton with the G&S Players as the producer of their production of Utopia, Limited. He has been the featured tenor or comic lead for several productions of The Savoy Company, and his favorite non-G&S credits include Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl (Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra) and Dr. Parker in Bat Boy The Musical (Village Productions).

He has been a staff tenor for St. Paul's Lutheran church in Wynnewood, PA and is a recurring guest soloist at Ardmore Presbyterian Church, has been a tenor-for-hire at many recitals, weddings, funerals and special events, is an accomplished interpreter of traditional Irish ballads, and is coached by Richard Johnson of Bryn Mawr, PA. By day Brendan is Director of Software Development for Aria Systems, an internet billing services provider. He's also the designer of our society's website and father to professional child actor Conor O'Brien
