Having followed Bruce Montgomery from the Gilbert & Sullivan Players of Philadelphia,
Bob joined our society for its production of The Yeomen of the Guard (1989). He has played m
ore than a dozen roles with us, including The Learned Judge and Usher from Trial By Jury,
Colonel Calverly and Major Murgatroyd in Patience, Boatswain and Carpenter in H.M.S. Pinafore,
Sillimon in Thespis (both here and with the G&S Players at the Buxton International Festival),
Pish Tush and Pooh Bah in The Mikado, Old Adam Goodheart in Ruddigore, Wilfred Shadbolt in Yeomen,
and last year Ludwig in The Grand Duke. Offstage, he has served a few stints as music director,
one or two as stage director, and with annoying consistency (ask the chorus) as assistant music
director for Florrie. He studies voice with Kathryn Armour of Wilmington, and everything else with
his patient Winnie in Doylestown, PA.
